About these terms

These terms apply to the Inbox Invaders website and macOS email app, operated by Edan Edison, trading as Manx Digital, 8 Kirby Hill, Douglas, Isle of Man, IM2 1PA. Contact hello@manxdigital.com.

By using the site or app, you agree to these terms. You must have the legal capacity to agree, or the permission of a parent or guardian where required. If you use an organisation's account, you must have its authority and comply with its policies. Any applicable store terms or separately agreed commercial terms also apply.

What Inbox Invaders does

Inbox Invaders is a native macOS email client that connects to existing email accounts. It is not an email hosting provider and does not replace your provider's mailbox, spam filtering, storage, account recovery or contractual obligations. Its arcade design and progression features do not change the real effect of email commands.

Features and compatibility depend on your app version, supported macOS version, provider, account plan, permissions and organisation settings. A website description does not guarantee that a provider will authorise an account or that every provider feature is available. Inbox Invaders will be sold for a fixed, one-time purchase price, with no recurring app subscription. Product availability, the final price and the applicable purchase terms will be stated at the relevant distribution or purchase point. Any separate charges from your email provider or other services remain their own.

Permission to use the software

Subject to these terms and any applicable distribution licence, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive right to use Inbox Invaders for lawful email activity on devices you are authorised to use. The software, branding, design and site materials belong to Manx Digital or their respective licensors. Open-source components remain governed by their own licences.

Do not impersonate others, send unlawful spam or harmful material, infringe rights, access accounts without permission, bypass security protections, or interfere with the site or app. These restrictions do not remove rights that applicable law gives you, including rights concerning interoperability or open-source software.

Your accounts, messages and device

You retain your rights in your messages and files. You authorise the app to access and process the accounts you connect and to perform the actions you request. You are responsible for having permission to use those accounts and handle other people's personal or confidential information.

Keep your Mac, provider accounts, sign-in approvals and app passwords secure. Use supported software and appropriate backups. Check recipient addresses, the sending account, attachments and quoted messages before sending. A sent message may be copied, retained or forwarded by recipients; we cannot recall it or control their copies.

Do not submit passwords, OAuth tokens or unnecessary private mail to support. If you share material with us for a support request, you permit us to process that material only as reasonably needed to handle your request, protect the service and meet legal obligations, as explained in our privacy policy.

Mail actions, local data and backups

Read states, flags, folder moves, archive, trash, draft uploads and other mail commands may synchronise with your provider and affect what appears on your other devices. Emptying folders or permanently deleting messages can be irreversible. Read confirmations carefully and keep independent copies of important records.

A local cache is not a complete or independent backup. Mail that has not downloaded, attachments that have not been saved, unsent drafts and queued actions may need a network connection or further action. Removing an account deletes its local app information, including unsent local material, after confirmation; it does not delete the provider account.

Do not assume an interrupted send failed. Check the app's delivery status, your provider's Sent folder and, where needed, the recipient before sending another copy. Email delivery, receipt, timing and recipient display depend on systems outside our control.

Third-party services and privacy

Google, Microsoft, Apple, Yahoo, Fastmail and other providers are independent services with their own terms, permissions, policies and service limits. Inbox Invaders is not endorsed by or affiliated with those providers. They may change or restrict access, require administrator approval, revoke credentials or stop supporting a connection.

Remote images, external links and attachments may contact or open third-party services. Exercise care with unexpected messages and files. The privacy policy explains local storage, provider permissions, remote images and website information. The cookie policy explains browser storage on this site.

Reliability and responsibility

We aim to provide the software and site with reasonable care and skill. They may contain errors, change over time or be temporarily unavailable. We do not promise uninterrupted operation, successful delivery, complete compatibility with every message, or recovery of every file or message.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for failures caused by your provider, network, device, unauthorised account use outside our control, or actions you request after an appropriate warning. We are not liable for indirect business losses where the law allows their exclusion. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including fraud, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your mandatory consumer rights.

Stopping use and changes

You can stop using the app or site at any time. Before removing an account or uninstalling, save any local material you need, resolve pending sends and revoke provider access if desired. Removing the app does not cancel a separate contract with your email provider.

We may change the site, app or these terms for product, legal or security reasons. Updated terms will show their effective date, with additional notice where required. Changes do not take away rights you already have under applicable law. If you do not accept a change, you can stop using the affected service.

Law and resolving issues

These terms are governed by the laws of the Isle of Man. The courts of the Isle of Man have jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protections and any right to bring proceedings where you live. Please contact hello@manxdigital.com first so we can try to resolve an issue.
